Astro-genetics offers an opportunity, through the study of astrology, numerology and hand analysis, to begin understanding how the primary energies of earth, water, fire, air and ether, combine to become our personal constitution - our primary mode of behavior - how and why we act, think and feel the way we do. Understanding these elemental, energetic relationships gives insight in to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nature. A careful study of the hand or horoscope reveals and reflects the innate strength of the elements within one's constitution. All actions and reactions are based on the elemental principles of antagonisms and affinities. The primary force of each element is present each moment as they combine in ever varying and changing degrees which influence the direction and quality of our lives. The five primary elemental factors combine forming the very essence and substance of all creative movement be it physical, subtle, or causal. No action is without its own particular elemental exchange.

These elemental exchanges become vehicles for three preliminary modes of expression and states of being. Each elemental combination has positive or negative tendencies:

1) active/rajasic, initiating, assertive energy, can become rambunctious

2) fixed/tamasic, steadfast, grounded energy, can become stuck and stagnant

3) mutable/sattvic, balanced, sustaining energy, can become indecisive and  lazy 

Alone these elements are inactive, representing dormant potentials. Once the creative process ensues, these forces become active and begin merging with each other creating a dynamic play of compatible and incompatible lines of communication. This oscillating tension becomes the yin, yang foundation, the force which holds creation together in this ever shifting polarity that simultaneously off-sets and re-balances itself in this dynamic dance of life.

All too often we feel swept away by this oscillating dance and feel we have little control over the forces that be. We often experience life as an external force to be dealt with, unaware of its internal implications. This external force seems random at best, at worst, threatening and undermining. We focus on the many symptoms rather than the root causes. It's when we begin to understand the internal, rootsources for our afflictions, that we can then begin to make fundamental changes. A system called astro-genetics was developed for those who wish to receive a fuller comprehension of the inter-play of the five elements and three modes of expression. Asto-genetics draws upon three ancient systems of introspective study to ascertain one's personal elemental constitution. These three systems are:

To sum up, if we want more control over our lives we first need to find out what this life is, it's mode of operation, until we learn how a tool works we can't properly use it. These bodies can be great tools but without proper maintenance they are useless. Most of our current decisions and choices are simply reactions to previous decisions and choices. Our current actions are reactions to past actions. To break out of this stagnate routine of living in the past we need to become ever so conscious of the present moment. To be able to exercise our free will in the present moment opens up possibilities for growth and change. For our decisions and choices become our own and we begin to appreciate a fuller life as we take the time to think and reflect before we act. This freedom of action self determines what our future holds, for conscious action plants the seeds for future fruits, instead of living and feeling trapped by the past we can live now and feel free of the future.
